Ryan Rumery is a 2017 alumnus of the Sundance Institute Sound Designer and Composer Lab for Documentary Film at Skywalker Ranch.

His music is regularly heard on “This American Life.”  His film credits include  Food and Country  (2023 Sundance),  Antisemite (New Wave Short Film Festival 2022), The Way Life Is (2021 CIFF), Ottolenghi and the Cakes of Versailles (2020 Tribeca Film Festival, IFC), District 15 (2020 Patagonia.com), America’s Pandemic (2020 The Washington Post), Pathways to Power (2019 The Washington Post), Epic Extras (2019 Major League Baseball), The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Paul Manafort (2018 The Washington Post), And, Apart (2016 Golden Door International Film Festival). He has also contributed additional music to City of Gold (2015 Sundance), Awake: A Dream From Standing Rock (2017 Tribeca Film Festival), How to Let Go of the World (And Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change) (2016 Sundance, HBO), When We Walk (2019 Hot Docs), Afghan Cycles (2018 Hot Docs), Murder in Paris (2015 CNN “Death Row Stories”) , MTV’s “Jersey Shore”, and A&E’s “Relatively Famous.”  He is also an Obie award-winning composer and sound designer for theater with over 250 productions, including music for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Between Riverside and Crazy, currently on Broadway.
